After a large, free family celebration from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., the evening will be a celebration in the QUARTERBACK Immobilien ARENA. Look forward to a journey through the history of the sports club, meet Olympic and world champions from the last seven decades, our Olympians this year and our talents for the future. A varied stage program, live music and a final birthday party with the DJ duo Roman Knoblauch and Frank Gurke await you.
Celebrate the 70 years of our SC DHfK with us and many companions and friends and toast to the future with us!
Founded on September 20, 1954, our SC DHfK Leipzig can look back on a successful and eventful history in competitive and recreational sports. Originally focused on elite sports, our sports club has now transformed into a diverse large sports club that is equally committed to competitive, elite and competitive sports as well as children's, recreational, health and disabled sports.
We are proud to be the largest sports club in Leipzig and one of the largest in Central Germany, with over 6,200 members involved in sports ranging from children to seniors. And despite our 70 years, we are younger than ever and are pleased that over 50 percent of our members are children and young people.
Originally founded by six departments, the SC DHfK is now home to 19 departments – the spectrum ranges from finswimming to speed skating, from handball to athletics, from canoeing to wheelchair sports.
In competitive sports, many athletes from SC DHfK have celebrated international and national successes. Since 1954, for example, they have won 121 Olympic medals and countless more at world and European championships. And the Leipzig athletes are still successfully represented at many championships - whether in Germany or around the world. This year, for example, SC DHfK has 9 Olympians from its own ranks.
