ASP have been doing their thing for 25 years - authentic and always true to themselves and their fans - and this is something they are going to celebrate in 2024 as part of a special anniversary tour. Of course not without exquisite accompaniment: Samsas Traum and Two Minds Collide are not only special guests, but also part of joint performances as part of the mini-festival concept. Nic Frost (ex-Spielbann) has also been announced as a duet partner in the ASP set.

In 1999, a young band asked the German rock scene, seemingly contradictory but confident: "Have you missed me?". Demanding and dissidents in particular rewarded this chutzpah and have been answering the question with a consistent yes for 25 years. The band with the frontman wearing scary make-up always went about their work with a fair amount of awkwardness and mastered the balancing act between lyrical ambition and playful lightness. At the same time, they play in several genres from heavy rock to electro to folk ballads - and ultimately none. Because no category fits - too many styles serve the stories published on the concept albums, which are as exciting as they are brave.

25 years in which mastermind and namesake Asp Spreng has spun fantastic stories in the context of several narrative cycles and established a completely unique musical style for this purpose - Gothic Novel Rock. Most recently, the band surprised everyone with the hit album "Horrors", which, with musical short stories - novellas instead of novels - offered an exciting change from the previous nested narrative structures and provided an exciting intermezzo - before Asp will devote himself to the Tower cycle.

Perhaps it is the skillful balancing act between poetry and entertainment that has made ASP so extremely successful. There is no other explanation for this phenomenon. And one thing is certain: ASP are always an experience on stage - whether as headliners at the relevant scene festivals or at large metal events such as Wacken Open Air and Rockharz - which they will prove again with a special best-of show in the anniversary year.
