Information about the event

Together with harpist Isabel Moreton, pan flute virtuoso Hannah Schlubeck will be a guest in the Mendelssohn Hall of the Gewandhaus on December 19, 2024 at 8 p.m. with her program "Charms of Christmas". The concert takes listeners on a journey into an Advent and Christmas world of sound. There will be well-known and unknown melodies from England, Ireland, France as well as traditional Advent and Christmas music from Germany. The sound combination of the pan flute with the concert harp in particular offers a contemplative introduction to the upcoming Christmas and offers listeners a break from everyday stress. The program particularly highlights the variable sound of the pan flute and the filigree transparency of the harp.

The Schlubeck-Moreton duo has been playing together for almost 20 years and has performed together internationally in over 300 concerts.

Hannah Schlubeck, who lives in Berlin, is considered one of the world's leading pan flute players and was the first musician to graduate from a German music college with a major in pan flute. Isabel Moreton is also in demand internationally as a soloist, but is also employed at the Hamburg University of Music and Dance, among others.

Hannah Schlubeck is considered one of the world's leading pan flute players and has made a name for herself particularly in the field of interpreting classical music on the pan flute.

She is the first musician in Germany to receive a university degree in pan flute. She began studying at the Wuppertal University of Music in 1991 as a junior student under Prof. Manfredo Zimmermann and completed her studies there in 1998 with a concert diploma.
