Chris de Burgh can celebrate a very special anniversary in 2024: exactly half a century ago his debut “Far Beyond These Castle Walls” was released – the start of an impressive global career.
The singer/guitarist/pianist will be performing a representative cross-section of his over 330 songs in Germany at ten dates between August 1 and 18. Fans love the down-to-earth musician, who celebrated his 75th birthday on October 15 and recently caused quite a stir with his songs for the successful production “Robin Hood – The Musical”.
Even professional critics have to share the verdict of the Neue Westfälische: "Anyone who has the chance to see this artist live will quickly see that his work has much more to offer than the hits from the radio. Chris de Burgh is above all a storyteller. His songs are always about adventures, about travelers, about Blackbeard and Robin Hood. He cleverly connects the works and frames them elegantly. For example, he asks the listeners to imagine that they are in a tavern 250 years ago and a group of musicians come on stage to tell them the following story.
