Das Land ohne Musik (Eröffnungskonzert) - amarcord & Klenke Quartett (Deutschland)

For the 25th time, the amarcord ensemble is leading the audience into a world in which the human voice can do anything and is capable of anything. In the anniversary year of their vocal music festival, the Leipzig singers are joining forces with the four chamber musicians of the Klenke Quartet for their opening concert - and dedicating themselves to a country that was once accused of having no (own) music at all. But the 10 vocal cords and 16 strings of the two ensembles show us that this can hardly be true in a new program made entirely for a cappella, including a joint premiere! We can look forward to all kinds of versatile, masterful music from England (and "New England") for voices, string instruments and both together - from Dowland, Gibbons and Purcell to Britten, Holst and Macmillan as well as Philip Glass and Caroline Shaw.
