Waldwuffel and Moosmutzel, the two forest spirits of the Dream Magic Tree, are drawing wish lists. Then Agga Knack, the wild dream louse, bursts in and... "Zappzerapp, a leaf is off!" Moosmutzel has caught them. But at Christmas, people should get along, warns the Dream Magic Tree. They are now waiting together for Helga Himmel, because like every year, the Heavenly Director sends his beautiful messenger of lights to the Dream Magic Tree to pick up a special dream leaf for the heavenly Christmas tree. Helga Himmel rants about her failed landing approach in the Dream Magic Tree. It is the fault of a mysterious, very large hat that was reaching out to her! Yes, an old hat, covered in patches like years and days, woven from time. Then the wish lists disappear! And Helga Himmel has suddenly disappeared too! It was none other than Mr. Kellerstaub, this strange old hat. He pulled himself over Helga and kidnapped her to the Grummelburg. Möchthild, the woman with the ugly heart, lives there. She hates Christmas, she wants Christmas to be cancelled! That's why she wants to prevent Helga from bringing the Christmas dream leaf to the heavenly Christmas tree. She stole poor Mr. Kellerstaub's silver Christmas sound, and he would only get it back if he brought Helga Himmel to the dungeon of the Grummelburg. His silver sound is also there and only she has the key to it. Will they succeed in freeing Helga Himmel and the silver sound from the Grummelburg? That takes very brave children.

In 1978, Reinhard Lakomy and Monika Ehrhardt developed a new genre of children's entertainment - story songs. This enchanting mixture of radio play, rock ballad and children's song has resulted in a total of fifteen radio play stories to date, including "The Raindrop Paule Platsch" (1978), "The Dream Magic Tree" (1980) and "The Blue Ypsilon" (1999). These have influenced generations of children for over 40 years and, with 5 million records sold to date, have made the DREAM MAGIC TREE series a true success story.
The story songs were staged as an interactive children's theater. The popular stories can be experienced live with the REINHARD LAKOMY ensemble and have been successfully performed in various shows on German-speaking stages for years.
