A cappella concert

A very special excursion into the world of Renaissance music awaits us with this trio concert evening: lutenist Joel Frederiksen, lutenist Emma-Lisa Roux and gambist Giovanna Baviera are both masters at playing solo on their respective instruments and are also highly accomplished singers. They also excel in the art of accompanying themselves while singing, i.e. mastering both disciplines at the same time - and ultimately make this program a very special treat as a combination of three such masteries. With French court songs from the 17th century, they give us an insight into the practice of self-accompanying singing, which was common at the time but is rare today, and thus revive this ancient art - on a threefold scale.
