Information about the event

"Owl Finds the Beat – With Feeling" is coming to the theater stage!

After the huge success of the first theater concert, the sequel is finally here. "Owl Finds the Beat – With Feeling" will premiere at Hamburg's St. Pauli Theater in April 2023, and from there, it will continue its German tour!

Be there!

background

She's blue and yellow, loves music, and has now become a household name in German children's rooms: Owl, arguably the coolest facilitator of musical adventures, is on a grand voyage of discovery. With tremendous success! Since the release of the debut radio play by Charlotte Simon, Nina Addin, and Christina Anders (Raack), the three Owl albums have sold around half a million copies.

Since 2016, the unsuspecting owl has also been appearing on the theater stage in a production by Christina Anders (Raack) and Cristiana Garba, delighting children and parents alike. Over 30,000 visitors across Germany have already celebrated a theater-concert party with Eule. Now, the sequel is finally here!

The history

Music is the language of emotions. Owl discovers this in the third part of her exciting journey through the world of music – because she wants to write her first ukulele song! But how does one even do that?

In her search for answers about what it takes to compose her first song, Owl not only organizes a concert in the forest, but also meets a whole host of new musical friends. Each brings with them a different feeling, each with its own unique beat. She encounters euphoria like love, joy, and courage, but also sadness, anger, and fear. In the end, Owl has learned a great deal about emotions and feels how good it feels to express them through music.

The production

While the show for Eule Part 1 explored the boundaries between theater, concert, and interactive party, Garba and Anders place emotions at the center of their production of the third part. "It's important to us to literally bring emotions close to the audience," say Garba and Anders. "Feelings don't just exist. They arise, build up, and make their way to the surface. The emergence and actual feeling are always the result of an interplay between inside and outside. We can shape the outside and thus create a connection. Through the music, of course, but also through the use of light and the expressiveness of the body." However, this will not change the live music experience for the young audience. With their well-rehearsed five-person team, there will once again be only live performances of songs.
