Information about the event

She was the "spiritual leader" of Argentina, a "saint." Eva "Evita" Perón moved many people and, above all, caused a stir. But now she is dead: Evita died of cancer at the age of just 33, becoming a legend. The people are in deep mourning, and Che tells her life story in retrospect: how, at the age of fifteen, she ended up in the big city of Buenos Aires through a love affair with a tango singer, met important people there and thus met Juan Perón. She helped him to the presidency and used her voice in the fight against poverty and for the Argentine people, until at some point her strength gave out...

The successful musical "Evita" by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, first released as an album in 1976 and premiered in London two years later, inspires with its artistic and emotional portrayal of the biography, the spectacular rise and fall of María Eva Duarte de Perón (1919-1952): how the fighter from a small Argentinian town made it to the government palace, the Casa Rosada, and campaigned for workers' and women's rights.
