The USA in the near future: The country is divided by a major civil war. In Washington, DC, the President is serving a third term in order to use the US military to defend himself against the western forces of Texas and California. Among other things, he orders air strikes against rebellious American citizens. Nevertheless, the Texan and Californian units manage to march towards the capital. They threaten to take Washington, DC on Independence Day. A handful of war correspondents try to document this moment, despite the risk of losing their own lives in the chaos of war.
