Although Heaven 17 was not actually planned as a group, today it is impossible to imagine music history without them. They were founded by Martyn Ware, who was known for the Human League and later even became the producer for Tina Turner. And they took off straight away: their first album "Penthouse And Pavement" was awarded gold after 14 weeks in the UK charts and is still a modern classic today. With songs like "Let's All Make A Bomb" and "Song With No Name", Heaven 17 is still the best of British synth pop to this day.
Influenced by bands like Kraftwerk, the band was a project full of passion and creativity, where the musicians had full control over the music and its representation, and this is reflected in the songs. With their album "The Luxury Gap" they created a pop masterpiece that conquered the international charts. With the song "Let Me Go" they almost broke the UK Top 40. Also on the album: the song "Temptation", which was later released as a single and is THE song of the 80s for many. Martyn Ware himself says of it: "Every show we do, in every circumstance and with every demographic, it just always works." Simply a hit in music history.
