IC FALKENBERG plays songs from his new album.
“… he looks back on a life in which rebellion and self-assertion were always the driving forces. And on a career - as exciting and full of twists and turns as contemporary history.” (Markus Fitsch - mdr kultur)
“Formerly a teen idol, IC Falkenberg is now a warning voice and intellectual.” (Schall Music Magazine)
"Dreamy sounds of a creative poet: ideal fodder for the arts section... the man has enormous linguistic and musical possibilities, he should be heard. (Musikexpress)
“Hardly any German singer writes poetry so abstractly and associatively.” (Berliner Zeitung)
"A poet who sings here in pieces that are stylistically as far removed from ordinary rock songs as the moon is from the stars. Falkenberg combines the elegiac mood with the literary standards of Leonhard Cohen and Nick Cave." (Mitteldeutsche Zeitung)
“Unaffected by the rules of the music business, IC Falkenberg delivers complex, atmospherically dense compositions with very clever lyrics that need to be deciphered.” (Das Magazin)
“The country needs songs like these.” (Süddeutsche Zeitung)
IC FALKENBERG writes and sings and plays the piano, he grapples with the big issues and draws them into his real world beyond the excesses of party capitals. And he takes a stand. Openly and without excuses. Over 40 years of stage presence and 26 albums speak for themselves, as does the musical diversity of FALKENBERG.
IC FALKENBERG has been on stage since he was ten years old. In the 1980s he was the singer, composer and lyricist for Stern Meissen. In the mid-1980s he quickly became one of the most successful and popular artists in eastern Germany under the stage name IC FALKENBERG and sold over 250,000 copies of each of his first two solo albums.
IC FALKENBERG's concerts are moments that cannot be repeated; he weaves humorous stories through their open-hearted intimacy and touching melancholy. Despite his demanding themes, he remains unobtrusive and light-hearted. He masters the fine line, sounds sensitive but never sentimental.
