Who:
Konrad Kuechenmeister is one of the most captivating artists on the current underground music scene. He embodies the harmony between traditional music craftsmanship live on stage and the latest multimedia technology.
How:
This multi-instrumentalist composes, arranges, creates, mixes and does it all LIVE on stage. He uses traditional instruments such as guitar, bass, melodica, keys, drums and percussion, and records vocals and beatboxing with modern effects in a loop station. The loop station puts everything recorded into an endless loop (LOOP) and plays the individual recordings simultaneously on top of each other. The result is a sound that one is normally only used to from whole bands. Konrad Kuechenmeister completely avoids pre-made samples and likes to create sounds in an abstract way with bottles, pots and other unusual "musical instruments". He leaves a lot of room for improvisation, which makes each show unique and special.
Where:
The Berlin-based Dresden native began his solo career as a street musician in public squares and flea markets in Berlin. Since his time as a street musician, Konrad has played at more than 1,000 concerts in Europe, the USA, China, South Africa, Namibia and Brazil, including as the official support act for Manu Chao in the Arena Brasilia.
What:
The influences and inspiration he has gathered on his numerous tours have resulted in a unique style that is as multifaceted as it is concise. His music is his own interpretation of modern musical styles such as drum n bass, reggae, dub, hip hop, ska, Balkan beats and dubstep, which makes each of his shows an unforgettable experience.
