The soundtrack of my life
A unique stage gala with film music & songs from over 45 years written by film composer Konstantin Wecker
This concert tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland is a real matter of the heart for Konstantin Wecker. On stage, the Munich musician, songwriter, poet and film composer presents the diverse and opulent sound of his great film music. With his stage program The Soundtrack of My Life, Wecker also pays tribute to famous actors and directors of the last 45 years. Because his compositions are part of German film history.
Very few people know to this day how important the Munich musician is as a film composer. Over the last few decades, Konstantin Wecker (76) has shaped dozens of films, series and popular TV films with his music, compositions and distinctive melodies. Who can't whistle along to the theme music of the Munich cult series Kir Royal by Helmut Dietl about the gossip reporter Baby Schimmerlos or doesn't have the sound of Schtonk, one of the most successful German film satires of all time, in their ears when they remember the grotesque story about the fake Hitler diaries?
It all started with a vision. The idea for a big gala evening with a selection of his film music and songs with an orchestra and lots of pictures. But the concert on July 4, 2023 in the big music arena at the summer Tollwood Festival not only thrilled the audience and the many acting stars, directors and fellow musicians among the guests, from Mario Adorf, Friedrich von Thun to Reinhard Mey and Jo Baier. It was also an unforgettable experience for Konstantin Wecker and his team. And so the idea grew to make the program audible and visible to many people on a big live tour.
Wecker's work as a film composer includes many other cinema classics such as Sisters or the Balance of Happiness, The White Rose, 1945, Peppermint Peace or Shortness of Breath, documentary films such as What is not legal can be legitimate, but also - in addition to Kir Royal - the title songs and film music of numerous television films such as Liesl Karlstadt and Karl Valentin, Appolonia, At 50, men kiss differently or series such as Doctors: Dr. Schwarz and Dr. Martin.
At the concerts The Soundtrack of My Life (premiere is on October 5, 2024 at the Circus Krone in Munich), the audience can look forward to a unique evening: with fantastic film music, magnificent and opulent orchestral sounds and many alarm clock songs, pictures and stories from and about legends of cinema and television films as well as prominent guests who have all written film history together.
