With a new duo program “Songs of my Life” Konstantin Wecker will provide very personal insights into his work in 2024.
Munich. Songs have shaped his life - for over 50 years. For Konstantin Wecker, this is reason enough to review the past decades on countless stages for himself and his audience in a wonderful way. With the new chamber music program "Songs of my Life", the Munich musician, composer and author, together with his pianist and long-time companion Jo Barnikel, presents his personal poetic highlights - from the beginning to today.
These will include classics such as “Wenn der Sommer nicht mehr weit ist”, “Willy” written in the 1970s, “Wut und Zärtlichkeit”, “Sometimes I cry a lot”, but also “Die Irren” from his very first LP “Die sadopoetischen Gesänge des Konstantin Amadeus Wecker”.
The audience can also look forward to one or two surprises with almost forgotten songs. One thing has always been the same for the passionate pacifist and committed anti-fascist: "In my songs I have always allowed my fragility, my vulnerability." In doing so, he has always found himself - and with it his followers, for whom his lines have always been inspiration. And still are. They can all expect an evening that will give courage, songs and poems whose power will shape our lives for many years to come.
