Patrick Salmen was born in Wuppertal in 1985 and studied German and history at the University of Wuppertal. He has been working as a freelance author and satirist for 12 years. In 2010 he was awarded the title of German-speaking champion in poetry slam. However, he quickly emancipated himself from this format and now tours the entire German-speaking world with his own solo shows. He writes books, appears on radio and TV and regularly works as a presenter, speaker or develops late night and literary concepts in his adopted home of Dortmund.
His literary debut was in 2011 with the short story collection "Distances" published by Lektora-Verlag. His humorous short stories have been published under titles such as "I have an axe", "Two dreams meet. Both burst" and "In the rainbow of good mood, I am the beige" by Droemer Knaur. Together with Quichotte, he is responsible for the puzzle books "You can do anything you dream of. Unless it's too difficult" and "Giving up is not a solution. Except for packages".
Most recently, the volume of poetry "Two More Winters", the short story collection "And the World Outside" and the children's book "The Yellow Crane" were published. He is currently working on his debut novel and the next stage show "Yoga Against the Right".
