Peter Doherty can look back on a successful year in 2024 - his band The Libertines topped the British charts with their fourth album, and the subsequent tour was completely sold out. Now the exceptional artist is taking time for his own music again - and is bringing it to Germany for four concerts in May!
Peter Doherty is also successful as a solo artist: His first solo album "Grace / Wastelands" was released in 2009 and was celebrated for its poetic, introspective lyrics. In 2016 he lived in Hamburg for several months and recorded the album "Hamburg Demonstrations" there. Another highlight of his solo work is the project "Pete Doherty and the Puta Madres", released in 2019.
After more than 20 years in the public eye, the Covid-19 pandemic and his marriage to musician Katia de Vidas were a turning point in Doherty's life: he now lives a clean and secluded life in Normandy. This change is also reflected in his music. While the Libertines sound as rocky as ever on their latest album, Doherty showed a quieter and more thoughtful side on his fourth solo album "The Fantasy Life of Poetry & Crime" in 2022.
The year 2025 promises further highlights for his fans: the second part of the Libertines tour starts in February, and his fifth solo album "Felt Better Alive" will be released in spring. The songs, which were written during his wife's pregnancy, are characterized by a playful lightness and Doherty's incomparable storytelling talent.
