Blindflug, the first single from AB syndrome new album, is a song about the fear of not being enough with one's music; about the fear that after all the albums, concerts, and written lyrics, all that's left is a sad panting after one's own idols, amateurish bungling, simply not art. Packing exactly this feeling into a song is typical of AB Syndrome, as is the radical disclosure of one's own fears and feelings in general. They thus form a counterpoint to the "fake it till you make it" attitude of the resurgent Alpha Males, in which every admission of insecurity inevitably banishes one to the realm of the losers, aka Omegas (or even worse: women). Fittingly, AB Syndrom has brought Trille on board for this approach, a musician who represents precisely this radical openness and, together with the duo, embodies the idea that a world in which everyone can talk about their own fears is ultimately a better world for everyone. The music is accompanied by plucking synths that initially stutter hesitantly and later pour out in an ecstatic surge over a pulsating bass. This is amateurism, at best, in its distorted self-perception. The album, followed by a tour, will be released in spring 2025.
