At least since the chart successes of their last two albums “The Liberation” and “Ayam” belong Disillusion one of the heavyweights of German metal. Of course, they always have been for fans of the first hour. And there were quite a few fans from the very beginning. Disillusions long player debut “Back To Times Of Splendor” was THE sensation in progressive melodic death in April 2004 and has set international standards. A virtuoso concept album that plays across the entire spectrum of emotions. Touching, almost fragile moments, brutal outbursts - the genre boundaries melt away and everything flows together congenially in this epic masterpiece. Disillusion have shown on this record what can be achieved dramaturgically from brutal metal, thereby creating an instant classic at the beginning of their career.
