“Felix Meyer and project île with the Mondëna Quartet”
The 15 new songs on “Later Still” honor the tenderness of the moment and love and long for more courage to change and change towards revolutionary different paths and ideas. In “The Rabbit and the Snake” Meyer sings about the fear of societal paralysis. In “Put your heart in my hand” there is hope in the next generations, “for whom the borders of nation states will hopefully mean even less than they do to us today and who will then hopefully make the best of what life puts in front of them.” The title track “Later Still” is a celebration of love, friendship and the acceptance that everyone who is not against each other should be for each other.
More than ever before, national and international guests meet on “Later Still”. The Danish singer-songwriter Christian Juncker and violinist Harald Haugaard, with whom Felix Meyer wrote the title “Put your heart in my hand” in Copenhagen for the 100th anniversary of Danish reunification, or the guitarist Beppe Gambetta from Italy, with whom he wrote the Italian anti-war anthem "la guerra di Piero" is given new life in "Piero's Campaign". The actors Friedrich Mücke and Marc Ben Puch also make a guest appearance on the song “Zerrissenes Maul”. Colleague Max Prosa is also on board. Years ago he recommended a text by the philosopher Byung-Chul Han to Felix, from which they both subsequently made a version of the title “Colorful Paper”.
When Felix Meyer, the great pop music storyteller, is on stage, you can hardly escape the energy and the musical quality. For 10 years now, the author has been carving out an increasingly important niche between international chanson, poetry and criticism of the system, campfires, lust for life and love ballads with his eventful European street music history somewhere away from the trendy record labels and flat pop music. With many friends, colleagues and companions such as Dota Kehr, Hans-Eckardt Wenzel, Sarah Lesch, Konstantin Wecker, the band Keimzeit, Max Prosa and Maike Rosa Vogel, projects, songs and joint performances always arise.
