Der abgehalfterte Fernsehmoderator Chris Masterman (Ryan Corr) bekommt schon lange keine sonderlich glanzvollen Aufträge mehr angeboten. So findet er sich als auf dem Weg in Richtung australische Pampa wieder. Broome heißt das verschlafene Nest, wo Chris aufschlagen soll. Die Fahrt ins Outback ist jedoch nicht gerade aufregend. Als Chris jedoch in einem Moment der Unachtsamkeit in Känguru-Junges über den Haufen fährt, ist er wieder voll da. Er will das verletzte Tier retten und gerät auf der Suche nach Hilfe an Charlie (Lily Whiteley), ein elfjähriges indigenes Mädchen, das sich ihm bei seiner Mission anschließt.
