Ex-Gauner-Fuchs Nick Wilde (Stimme im Original: Jason Bateman / deutsche Stimme: Florian Halm) und Polizeianfänger-Häsin Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin / Josefine Preuß) haben gemeinsam den bis dato größten Fall in der Geschichte von Zoomania gelöst und wollen ihre ungewöhnliche Zusammenarbeit nun als frischgebackene Partner fortsetzen. Doch das ist längst kein Selbstläufer und die beiden hadern miteinander. Chief Bogo (Idris Elba / Oliver Stritzel) schickt die beiden deshalb zum Therapieprogramm „Partner in Krisen“. Doch es dauert auch nicht lange, bis das Duo direkt in einen richtigen Fall und damit das nächste Abenteuer stolpert. Die Giftschlange Gary De’Snake (Ke Huy Quan / Rick Kavanian) taucht in der tierischen Metropole auf und sorgt für Chaos und Panik, schließlich wurde ein solches gefährliches Reptil seit vielen Jahren nicht mehr in der Stadt gesichtet. Nick und Judy wollen herausfinden, was es damit auf sich hat, und müssen sich dafür auf einen gefährlichen Undercover-Einsatz in Ecken von Zoomania begeben, die selbst ihnen unbekannt sind.
