Information about the event

The multiple Grammy award-winning singer, arranger, composer and multi-instrumentalist returns to Germany in summer 2025
The 30-year-old Jacob Collier has long been one of the most successful musicians of his generation. In March 2024, ZDF described the artist as the "most unlikely pop star of the present" and portrayed his unique mix of jazz, pop and funk, which fills halls around the world. The Guardian even called him the "new messiah of jazz". Collaborations with artists such as Coldplay, Shawn Mendes, John Mayer, Ty Dolla $ign and many more have made the musician known across many scenes around the world. Since his debut album "In My Room" (2016), Jacob Collier has won a Grammy with every album release and is also nominated for three more at the 2025 Grammys with his current long player "Djesse Vol. 4": Best Album of the Year, Best Instrumental or A Capella Arrangement ("Bridge over troubled water") and Best Global Music Performance ("A Rock Somewhere Jacob Collier"). Jacob Collier infects his audience with his pure joy in making music and recently sold out the 02 Arena in his hometown of London, where Chris Martin performed as a special guest. In summer 2025, the exceptional musician will be coming to Leipzig, Wiesbaden and Mönchengladbach for open-air concerts.

Jacob Collier was born in London and came into contact with music at an early age through his parents, who both teach at the Royal Academy of Music. In 2012 he began regularly posting his own cover versions of well-known songs on YouTube and quickly gained a following. His version of Stevie Wonder's "Don't You Worry 'bout a Thing" went viral on the platform and caught the attention of Quincy Jones, who signed the young Brit to his management company in 2014 and has supported him strongly ever since. Herbie Hancock, David Crosby, Chris Martin and Steve Vai also quickly became part of his circle of supporters. Just a few weeks after his concert debut at London's Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Jacob Collier opened the evening for Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea at the Montreux Jazz Festival. In 2016, his debut album "In My Room" was created entirely in his own room, entered the US Jazz Charts at number 3 and was awarded two Grammy Awards in 2017. His albums "Djesse Vol. 1", "Djesse Vol. 2" and "Djesse Vol. 3" were able to repeat this success and each won Grammy Awards. At the age of 30, Jacob Collier has long been an absolute world star of the modern jazz world and is cleverly opening it up to a wider audience with influences from funk and pop. His current album "Djesse Vol. 4" was released in February 2024.
