„Och nö, erzähl nicht schon wieder vom bösen Wolf“, rufen die Zicklein zur Mutter, als diese ihre Kinder ermahnt: „Macht niemandem die Tür auf.“ Kaum ist die Geiß aus dem Haus, klopft der hungrige Wolf an der Tür und bittet charmant um Einlass. Die Zicklein überlegen: der Wolf soll gefährlich sein, aber wenn einer so nett ist, wird er doch nichts Böses im Schilde führen. Außerdem ist es schön gruselig, wenn so ein richtiger Wolf vor der Tür steht. Doch plötzlich ist der Spaß zu Ende. Die Mutter kommt zurück und findet keine Kinder, sondern den schnarchenden Wolf mit einem dicken Bauch. Zum Glück ist es ein Märchen und zu guter Letzt tanzt die Ziegenfamilie singend in den Tag hinein.
