In 2025, Simply Red will celebrate their 40th band anniversary. To mark this impressive milestone, the band will go on tour again and tell their success story from the beginning to today - from "Picture Book" (1985) to "Time" (2023) and everything in between. In Germany, there are performances in Hamburg, Leipzig, Berlin, Munich, Nuremberg, Mannheim, Stuttgart, Oberhausen, Hanover, Cologne and Frankfurt in the autumn. The band will also be performing at the Hallenstadion Zurich on October 24th.
Few bands can boast the success and longevity of Simply Red. With over 60 million albums sold worldwide, five UK No. 1 albums, 1.8 billion streams on streaming platforms worldwide and over 1 million YouTube subscribers, Simply Red remains one of the most successful and popular groups. Their classic 'Stars' (1991) was the best-selling album in the UK and Europe for two years. All 13 of Simply Red's studio albums, including their latest release 'Time', have reached the UK Top 10.
In 1985, Mick Hucknall formed Simply Red in the working-class area of Manchester and enjoyed early success with their first single "Money's Too Tight (To Mention)" (1985) and the BRIT Award-nominated album "Picture Book" (the first of 13 nominations and three BRIT Award wins). A decade followed in which the band enjoyed superstar status and produced worldwide hits. Even today, Simply Red's tours are sold out all over the world. Their concerts impress with their exceptional quality and Mick Hucknall has long been considered one of the greatest singers in modern music.
