Information about the event

Sabin Tambrea, one of our most talented, busiest actors of the younger generation, began his career in music. His parents, both musicians, gave Sabin and his sister Alina an instrument at an early age. Alina found her professional home in it; Sabin found his in the theater.

We know him from there from many plays in the Berliner Ensemble directed by Robert Wilson or Claus Peymann. Sabin was also increasingly booked by film productions, where he can be seen as Ludwig II, awarded the Bavarian Film Prize, or in films such as "In a Land That No Longer Exists" and currently as Kafka in "The Glory of Life". He achieved great popularity with the embodiment of his roles in the series "Ku'damm" and "Babylon Berlin". From the end of 2024 he can be seen in a leading role in the Fitzek bestseller adaptation "The Way Home" on Amazon Prime.

Sabin Tambrea has now written his second book, "Fatherlands," which will be released on August 29, 2024. His debut novel was on the Spiegel bestseller list, and now he tells the story of his Romanian-Hungarian family through the eyes of three generations: the boy Sabin, his father Bela, and his grandfather Horea. A novel about new beginnings, deprivation, and powerlessness in the face of a merciless political system, about the consequences of injustice, the significance of decisions, and a tender love story. The story of his parents.

But it is also the story of the siblings whose lives reunite on this evening. The highs and lows of three generations from the novel are reflected in the sounds of Romanticism, the fin de siècle and the modern era of the 20th century and allow you to experience this story on an intense emotional level through the universal language of music.

"Sabin Tambrea has the soul of an artist: whether on the big screen or as an author. He writes masterfully, crystal clear, empathetic, lively and, above all, with his heart. A gift for us readers." Florian Valerius, @literarischernerd

Sabin Tambrea reads and tells his story and then signs his novel for the audience.
