The Scots are coming...
A top-class military show on a major German tour
Celtic magic and Scottish joie de vivre - this is what the audience can experience when
THE SCOTTISH MUSIC PARADE / DIE SCHOTTISCHE MUSIKPARADE comes to Germany.
Bagpipers, drummers, musicians, singers and dancers, all directly from Edinburgh, Scotland, take the audience on an exciting and varied journey through Scotland for an evening - in 2025 again as open-air events on selected open-air stages.
Against a backdrop of a castle with towers and battlements - an imitation of a Scottish castle - the artists present ever new facets of Scottish culture. One moment the impressive sound of bagpipes and drums roared through the halls or open-air stages and captivated the people, the next moment emotional ballads full of longing and vastness create an intoxicating silence. The participating artists are among the best that Scotland has to offer and make the event an authentic "Scottish tattoo". Most of the participants are regulars at the world-famous "Edinburgh Tattoo". Many of the bagpipers and drummers are winners of international competitions.
Even the combination of traditional bagpipe playing and modern rock music works. When the guitarists turn up the volume on their electric guitars and the entire ensemble gradually joins in with their traditional instruments, e.g. Paul McCartney's "Mull of Kintyre", Dire Straits' "Going Home", Rod Stewart's "Sailing" or Simple Minds' "Belfast Child", you are guaranteed to get goosebumps.
Finally, the regiment of drummers brings the hall to life with its “drum fireworks”.
The cheerful and lively dances of Scotland, on the other hand, exude spirit and a lively festive atmosphere. The artists enter the stage in ever-changing formations, wearing splendid traditional costumes and outfits, and inspire one another with their immense joy in music and dance.
When one of Scotland's unofficial national anthems, such as "Flower of Scotland" or "Highland Cathedral", is played in the mist after an original cannon salvo and the bagpipers and drummers in their uniforms walk past the audience through the aisles, a real Highland air blows through the stands!
