SOPHIA is an artist who has something to say and does so even when things get uncomfortable. So it's no coincidence that her new single "Wie ein Mädchen" puts her finger on a painful wound that couldn't be more relevant in a social context. The singer/songwriter, who was born in Wetter in North Rhine-Westphalia, hopes that we can finally leave behind long-outdated gender-specific clichés such as that of the "weak girl": "'You run like a girl' or 'women can't park' - there are countless examples of expressions that are used to belittle someone," SOPHIA explains. "I would say that I can drive better than many of my male friends. That has absolutely nothing to do with gender." At the same time, she urges us to believe in ourselves and our dreams, to trust ourselves and to follow the call of our hearts! It's not about doing everything perfectly right from the start, but about getting started in the first place, never giving up and not being discouraged by the opinions of others. Something that is extremely important to SOPHIA herself: "When I set my mind on something, I want to do it with all my strength. That's how it is in music and in my private life too. When I start something, I do it properly and I keep going until it works. And if I don't have anyone to support me, then I do it alone."
