Thirty Seconds To Mars
alternative rock band around singer Jared Leto
In summer 2025 for three open-air concerts in Germany

When talking about the biggest alternative rock bands of the 2000s, Thirty Seconds To Mars are undoubtedly one of the most important names. They have long been a band of superlatives. After their international breakthrough with their 2005 album "A Beautiful Lie", the title track of the same name and songs such as "The Kill" and "Attack" as well as the successful acting career of singer Jared Leto, Thirty Seconds To Mars became headliners at festivals such as Rock am Ring, Rock im Park and Deichbrand. Their 2018 album "America" reached number 1 in the album charts in Germany and Austria and narrowly missed the top spot in the USA, reaching number 2 on the Billboard 200. After the release of their current long player "It's The End Of The World But It's A Beautiful Day" (2023), Jared Leto climbed the Empire State Building in New York City to announce the Seasons 2024 Tour, on which Thirty Seconds To Mars toured Latin America, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand and played six concerts in Germany. In June 2025, the band will return for three open-air shows and play at special locations such as the Hallersche Peißnitzinsel, the Loreley in St. Goarshausen and the SparkassenPark Mönchengladbach.

Thirty Seconds To Mars was founded in 1998 in Los Angeles, California by the brothers Jared (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboard) and Shannon Leto (drums). Before that, both had already played under different band names in small clubs in Los Angeles until Immortal Records noticed them and signed them. In 2002, the debut album "Thirty Seconds To Mars" was released, which took the band on tour as the opening act for The Used, Puddle Of Mudd and Incubus, where they performed as a quintet with Solon Bixler (2002-2003), Matthew Wachter (2002-2007) and Tomislav Miličević (2002-2018). The breakthrough finally came with the second album "A Beautiful Lie", which was released in 2005. In 2009, "This Is War" followed, which stayed in the German album charts for 62 weeks after reaching number 12, making the title track the band's second most successful single on Spotify. The fourth album "LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS" was released in 2013, accompanied by the single "Up In The Air", which was launched into space on a Falcon 9 rocket as the first commercial song of all time. The accompanying short film was awarded best rock music video at the 2013 MTV Music Video Awards. In 2018, Thirty Seconds To Mars released the long player "America", which achieved the band's best chart positions to date. On their sixth studio album "It's The End Of The World But It's A Beautiful Day", Thirty Seconds To Mars ushered in a new era for the band. The lead single "Stuck" entered the alternative radio charts at number 1, while the single "Seasons" became the namesake of the 2024 world tour. By asking whether we can accept change as we move through the different seasons of life, the band inspires thought and reveals their musical development. Clash magazine said the album had an experimental spirit that perfectly complemented the band's usual sound.
