The chance to see their favorite star Udo J\u00fcrgens once again and his brand new, previously unreleased song "Als ich fortging" live on stage for the first time ever excites thousands of people, so that due to the high demand, three days before Udo's 90th birthday, another twelve additional dates for 2025 have been announced. The live program "Da Capo Udo J\u00fcrgens" with Pepe Lienhard is the musical legacy of the iconic audience favorite that we all miss so much, which has become a unique show. Tobias Licht and Karim Khawatmi, two other stars of showbiz, will lead the entertaining show as presenters in an irregularly changing line-up.<\/p>\n
In addition to the countless unforgettable hits such as "Ich war noch niemals in New York", "Griechischer Wein", "Aber bitte mit Sahne" or "Mit 66 Jahren", the song "Als ich fortging" (release date: September 20, 2024), which was recently and surprisingly discovered in Udo J\u00fcrgens' estate, will of course also be part of the brand new original show "Da Capo Udo J\u00fcrgens". Under the direction of Pepe Lienhard, the same orchestra that accompanied him at his last concert in Zurich ten years ago will bring Udo's legacy back to the stage from autumn 2024, initially in 18 cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and in spring 2025 for additional dates in twelve other German cities. For Pepe Lienhard, himself a highly talented bandleader and saxophonist, it is a great joy and honor to pay tribute to his long-time friend and companion Udo J\u00fcrgens on the occasion of his 90th birthday and 10th anniversary of his death with this phenomenal show: "Udo was such an important part of my life - I owe him a lot. The live show will be a musical journey through time through the extraordinary life's work of the unique artist, entertainer and star Udo J\u00fcrgens. Thanks to the latest technology, the audience will experience an ingeniously staged, absolutely spectacular show, both visually and acoustically: Elaborately digitally edited original recordings of the last Udo J\u00fcrgens concerts will be accompanied live on stage by the excellent orchestra, while Udo will be seen larger than life on a huge screen - a perfect illusion.<\/p>\n
With the two actors and musical performers Tobias Licht and Karim Khawatmi, two well-known names will lead the shows as presenters in an irregularly changing line-up and provide the best entertainment between the songs. Tobias Licht, born in Cologne, is known above all from numerous prime-time television films, but has also demonstrated his diverse talent more than once in many successful musical productions ("Im Wei\u00dfen R\u00f6ssl", "Chicago", "Berlin Berlin"). Karim Khawatmi has made a name for himself in the German art and culture scene in plays and musicals such as "Jekyll & Hyde", "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Mamma Mia" as well as in numerous television and gala appearances.
