Christoph Umbeck, better known by his stage name "UMSE," has been running this marathon for a while now. Between 2005 and 2025, he released a total of eleven albums, including three EPs and eight albums. Sometimes it was a concept album called "Rheinisches Blatt," sometimes simply "Kunst f\u00fcr sich," and sometimes it was "Durch die Wolkendecke," to name just a few. In these 20 years, UMSE has collaborated with a whole host of names from the music scene, including Megaloh, Aphroe, Afrob, and Masta Ace. After UMSE's collaboration with producer legend Nottz in 2020, which resulted in the album "UNO," he increasingly focused on beat production and sampling again, ultimately producing the album "S\u00e9par\u00e9e" entirely on his own in 2022. He is responsible for the music and lyrics, as well as the organization of designs, cover artwork, and videos, as he has been releasing his music without a label since 2021 and only with the support of the distributor "Groove Attack." His new, now ninth album, "Immunsystem," will be released in 2025, which he once again produced independently in his home studio. Through his own sophisticated rap style, the samples he uses and the way he flips them, his dry drums, and concise bass lines, UMSE has created his own soundscape, which consistently picks up where the 2022 album "S\u00e9par\u00e9e" left off. UMSE's uncompromising, fresh sound reflects various other facets of his taste, life, and character. The featured guests also speak for themselves.
