\nKetewan \u201eKatie\u201c Melua (['m\u03b5lua], * 16. September 1984 in Georgien, wobei als Geburtsorte sowohl Tiflis als auch Kutaissi genannt werden) ist eine aus Georgien stammende britische S\u00e4ngerin und Musikerin sowie unter anderem Echo und Goldene Kamera-Preistr\u00e4gerin.<\/p>\n
Biografie<\/p>\n
Die Tochter eines Herzchirurgen wuchs in Tiflis auf, verbrachte aber einen Teil ihrer Kindheit auch in Moskau. 1993 zog Melua mit ihrer Familie nach Belfast. Dort besuchte sie die katholische St.-Catherine\u2019s-Grundschule, sp\u00e4ter das Dominician College in Fortwilliam. 1997 zog die Familie nach Redhill. Melua absolvierte eine Ausbildung an der BRIT School in Croydon, die sie 2003 mit Auszeichnung abschloss.<\/p>\n
Im August 2005 nahm Melua gemeinsam mit ihrer Familie die britische Staatsb\u00fcrgerschaft an, besitzt aber weiterhin auch die georgische Staatsb\u00fcrgerschaft.<\/p>\n
Seit dem 1. September 2012 ist sie mit dem ehemaligen britischen Motorradrennfahrer James Toseland verheiratet. Melua spricht Georgisch, Russisch und Englisch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
