For the first time in five years, ZZ Top will be performing in Germany again! The performances will also be a live premiere for Elwood Francis in this country. He, who was the band's guitar technician for decades, has replaced Dusty Hill, who died in July 2021, and forms the rhythm section with drummer Frank Beard. For its concert program, the bearded trio in the 55th year of their career can choose from numerous hits and classics such as "Gimme All Your Lovin'", "Got Me Under Pressure", "Tush", "Legs", "Sharp Dressed Man", "La Grange", "Rough Boy" or "Cheap Sunglasses". There could also be samples from ZZ Top's first studio album with new song material since 2012, which guitarist/singer Billy Gibbons recently announced in interviews.
Tickets for an evening of virtuoso, down-to-earth blues, boogie and rock from this legendary act are available for presale.
In the international live business, ZZ Top, who were inducted into the Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004, have been a constant, constantly touring force for decades. The group, whose name is a tribute to blues singer ZZ Hill and singer/guitarist BB King, can count on a large, loyal fan base. Their exceptional stage qualities are impressively documented in concert recordings such as "Tonite At Midnight: Live! Greatest Hits From Around The World", "Live At Montreux 2013" and "Live in Texas". The Grammy-nominated Netflix documentary "That Little Ol' Band From Texas" (2019), for which the soundtrack "Raw" was released in 2022, caused a great stir.
In a concert review, the renowned English daily newspaper The Guardian quoted a meaningful sentence by Dusty Hill, which describes how ZZ Top in concert can be briefly and succinctly described: "Little movement, big impact!"
