Brit Floyd - Wish You Were Here

Brit Floyd are one of the most successful tribute bands of our time. Since 2011, they have played over 1,000 concerts worldwide, performing at venues such as the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, and Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan, all from the musical oeuvre of the British rock band Pink Floyd. After tours supporting "The Dark Side Of The Moon" in 2023 and "The Division Bell" in 2024, the band led by singer and guitarist Damian Darlington is now also devoting its attention to the classic album "Wish You Were Here." To mark the 50th anniversary of the album, released in 1975, the tribute band will present the album in its entirety and also perform some of the band's classics. Featuring an impressive laser and light show and theatrical staging, the two-and-a-half-hour concert will be a multidimensional spectacle that pays tribute to Pink Floyd's musical legacy across the board. In October 2025, Brit Floyd will be performing their sophisticated Pink Floyd interpretations live at eight concerts in Germany on their “WISH YOU WERE HERE 50th Anniversary World Tour”.

Founded in Liverpool in 2011 by mastermind Damian Darlington, Brit Floyd emerged from The Australian Pink Floyd Show, as Darlington was convinced they could offer an even better tribute show. The musician first encountered Pink Floyd at the age of 13, saw them for the first time in 1994, and formed his first tribute band that same year. Together with world-class musicians such as Ian Cattell (bass and vocals), Arran Ahmun (drums), multi-instrumentalist Ryan Sranich, and many other musicians, he created a unique tribute band experience with Brit Floyd and has toured worldwide with the entire Pink Floyd discography.

Looking back at Pink Floyd's most successful years, "Wish You Were Here" stands in a sense at the center between "The Dark Side Of The Moon" (1973) and "The Wall" (1979), both of which are undoubtedly among the most important albums of the 1970s. Classified as part of Pink Floyd's "classic phase" within the band's oeuvre, it still features the psychedelic sounds and soundscapes of the 1960s, but supplemented with new influences. Framed within the experimental and jazz-infused 25 minutes of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," which is itself divided into nine parts, the electronically charged track "Welcome To The Machine," the bluesy "Have A Cigar," and the ballad-like title track represent an experimental art rock sound that once again pushed genre boundaries for Pink Floyd. Today they are still considered one of the most important and successful bands in progressive rock and “Wish You Were Here” is a milestone in their career.
