The humorist, actor, composer, cabaret artist and poet Erhardt once said of himself that he had a "mischievous streak". He was, and probably still is, the uncrowned king of German humor, the grand master of jokes and entertaining wordplay. Unforgettable and unmatched!
The premiere of the first Heinz Erhardt musical was celebrated in Hamburg in November 2017. Among the guests were the daughters and granddaughter of the clumsy humorist with the horn-rimmed glasses, who complimented the ensemble on the musical. Initially planned as a guest performance, the Erhardt musical was so popular that it has become a permanent fixture in the home theater, the traditional Hamburg Engelsaal. The successful ensemble is now touring Germany for the first time.
In the two-hour program (including a break), the actors Stefan Linker (Heinz Erhardt impersonator), Ralf Steltner and Karin Westfal engage in a veritable exchange of blows and recite one Heinz Erhardt poem after another. They are accompanied by piano, saxophone and drums. Catchy melodies to humorous texts, combined with the life story of the greatest German comedian, promise a good mix of spoken and sung texts. These are sometimes performed individually, sometimes in duets or in threes. The most beautiful poems and ballads of the pun genius, many of which have been set to music for the first time, are skilfully put together and presented in one piece. Whether it's Knight Fips or King Erl, whether it's maggots or cows, even the sour lemons and the G sketch are performed.
The audience is treated to a firework display of wordplay, a musical full of comical memories of the exceptional, droll humorist. Let yourself be transported into the world of Heinz Erhardt, you will not stop laughing. Promised!
