The journey of growth follows a spiral that continually expands and deepens with each cycle.
Following this basic principle, symphonic metal innovators EPICA have reinvented themselves once again on their ninth album, "Aspiral." The new studio album showcases a band brimming with newfound joy.

The album title is derived from the eponymous bronze sculpture by Polish sculptor and painter Stanisław Szukalskiback from 1965. It represents renewal and inspiration—key words that define Epica in 2025. In Szukalski's work, every detail is a work of art in itself, and there's always more to it than meets the eye.
The band saw this as the perfect analogy for the creation of this album: each song stands on its own with its own mood and meaning, while together they amplify into a monumental achievement.

At the same time, this symbolizes EPICA's group dynamic during this process: They encouraged, inspired, and continually challenged each other. Determined to achieve something greater than the sum of its parts, they left no stone unturned in their quest for perfection. If it's the job of creative people to push boundaries, then this sextet has done just that.

Furthermore, both the album's writing and recording processes were completely overhauled: from several remote writing camps that allowed the band to create "Aspiral" as a team, to live band recording sessions that captured the raw energy of live gigs in a studio setting. Each band member contributed inspiration, ideas, and years of songwriting experience.
Just like the Szukalski statue, the album's lyrics connect chaos, suffering, and the beautiful new things that are born from it. "Aspiral" sums it all up in one simple word.

Three years after the highly acclaimed "Manifest," the Swedish masters of thunderous, melodic futurism are now set to release "The Catalyst."

Formed in 2008, AMARANTHE forged their own unique path from the very beginning. With a sound that blends the sharpest edges of melodic metal, electronic rock, and razor-sharp pop, their influence was immediate and undeniable. With their self-titled debut in 2011, the Swedes blazed a trail through the European metal scene and beyond, quickly establishing themselves as a dazzling rarity, not least due to their unprecedented triple vocal attack, which pairs clean tones with exquisite melodic sensitivity and ferocious growls. Over the next few years, the quartet's profile steadily grew, and they released a series of critically acclaimed studio albums that continually pushed the boundaries of modern metal.
