There are not many names in the pop genre that have been so well known for over 60 years. Frank Schöbel is the most successful singer in the GDR. He received the “Amiga Platinum Award” for the artist who sold the most records on Amiga and thus in the GDR.
Frank managed to compensate for his popularity over the decades. He connects generations and is an integral part of the German music scene.
Frank is a singer, composer, lyricist, producer, presenter, actor, author and more. Initially known almost exclusively in eastern Germany, he gained numerous new fans after reunification.
His LP “Christmas with the Family” (1985), which he produced together with Aurora Lacasa and their two daughters Odette and Dominique, had the greatest success. With over 2 million copies sold, it is the best-selling record in the GDR.
Of course, even in his 62nd year on stage, “Fränky-Boy” will not miss the opportunity to bring the songs from this LP live on stage in the run-up to Christmas.
His loyal audience can also look forward to his big hits in one part of the concert.
