“Kilminister” - damn close to the original! The Halle musicians Sven Büttner, Olaf Mehl and Matthias Schimetzek-Nilius pay homage to the legendary rock band Motörhead.
Since its formation in 1975, the British rock band Motörhead has been one of the most influential music formations in the world. Its leader, bassist Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister, was already a legend during his lifetime. With his death on December 28, 2015, the band history of Motörhead comes to an end.
Three guys from Halle are on a mission to bring the music of Motörhead and the power of Lemmy Rock'n'Roll to the people - and they come damn close to the famous original! Their name: KILMINISTER.
The project was launched in 2010 by Sven "Lemmy" Büttner, Matthias "Meff" Schimetzek-Nilius and Olaf "Ole" Mehl. The music of Motörhead is of great importance to all three of them. And so together they offer an acoustic delight.
The trio's repertoire includes 90 minutes of Motörhead songs from across the band's history. And the amateur project is increasingly becoming a cult show: the number of performances is steadily increasing; the enthusiasm among fans is huge.
A special highlight for KILMINISTER was a concert in 2013 in Berlin's "White Trash" where Mikkey Dee, drummer of Motörhead, played the drums for the last songs of the concert - a great honor for the band, because Mikkey was very enthusiastic about the "German Version"...
