Information about the event

Dedication, humility, passion: When Marius Müller-Westernhagen turns an incredible 75 years old in December 2023, he will be able to look back on one of the greatest careers this country has ever seen. That's how this text could begin, but it would only be half the story. Because he's still in the middle of it all!

With his fantastic current album, »Das eine Leben«, Marius Müller-Westernhagen has finally earned attention and respect in the German cultural landscape. A critic from the FAZ wrote: "Das eine Leben - that's all Marius Müller-Westernhagen has, and it's touching how he expresses this fact, which is anything but new but which shocks everyone who is caught up in it, as, if we've done the math correctly, currently the oldest German rock'n'roller who is still really productive."

You can now celebrate: “75 Live”, that means 75 years of Westernhagen, 23 albums that have sold over 17 million copies, including eight number one albums. He has written, produced and performed hits such as "Freedom", "Sexy", "Let's live", "I'm fine" and so many others. So Marius Müller-Westernhagen will go on a big tour in May 2024 to celebrate this career, life and rock'n'roll. On the set list: a journey through his extensive work.

Because even if Marius Müller-Westernhagen is a great album artist: the natural habitat of this artist is and has always been the stage. Last but not least, this career is not only one of the most formative, but also one of the only authentic rock'n'roll stories from Germany. Even before his first albums, Marius Müller-Westernhagen spent nights in sweaty basements paying homage to blues and early rock'n'roll; he was and is the "singer in a rock'n'roll band" that he describes in "At 18 « sang about. And yet over all these years he has constantly developed and reinvented himself artistically on the basis of “his music”. And he always stayed with himself. That perhaps explains the impressively long career that continues to this day.

“Rock'n'Roll is dying again?” asks Marius rhetorically – and immediately supplies the answer: “Never, at least not for me, as long as I can or am allowed to set foot on a stage to make nice noise – and Of course there are still enough people who are willing to listen to me.«

The never-ending pandemic caused an unexpected and painful turning point for Marius Müller-Westernhagen, as for all other people on this planet. Among other things, he had to cancel the tour planned through theaters and opera houses (a project close to Westernhagen's heart). He is now all the more looking forward to the concerts on the occasion of his 75th birthday, which will take him back to the largest arenas in the republic in 2024. With the exceptional talents of his US band, with whom the singer-songwriter has been exposing the wildly beating heart of his music for years, he wants to get as loud as possible at eight concerts in May 2024: "I want to make a little nice noise again," says Marius Müller-Westernhagen. »Let's rock! Damn it, time demands it!”
