Shortly after the release of "Wildberry Lillet", she is suddenly everywhere. Nina Chuba has achieved what many others can only dream of. After she topped the charts with the aforementioned single in the summer of 2022, she achieved the same feat in February 2023 with her debut album "Glas". However, the young artist has been in the public eye for a long time - first as an actress, for example in the children's series "Die Pfefferkörner", and later as a singer. The fact that Nina Chuba finally took off like this may have surprised her - in "Alles Gleich" she sings the line "I never thought that it would work with the music" - but given her vocal and lyrical qualities and her star appeal, this is anything but surprising.
Nina Chuba didn't always sound like she did on "Glas", not least because she used to sing in English. Before her solo career, she was a member of the five-person pop band Blizz, which came together at the music school in Wedel near Hamburg, Nina's hometown. Singing and playing the piano have been her hobbies since childhood. Leaving the band and Schleswig-Holstein behind, the multi-talented artist, born Nina Kaiser in 1998, moved to Berlin, where she started all over again - alone and under the stage name Nina Chuba. Her first solo single "My Time" was released in 2018, followed by further English-language singles and the EPs "Power" (2020) and "Average" (2021). In autumn 2021 she presented her first track in German, "Neben mir". With each subsequent release, her level of fame grew, not least thanks to TikTok.
When Nina Chuba drops "Wildberry Lillet," everything happens very quickly. The song becomes the summer hit of 2022, knocking the ubiquitous "Layla" off the throne of the singles charts. From now on, Nina Chuba is omnipresent: on the radio, in various talk shows, in Jan Böhmermann's ZDF Neo Magazin Royale, at award ceremonies such as the 1LIVE Krone, where she won twice in 2022, at festivals and on YouTube and the like. The second hit single follows on its heels with "Ich hass dich," a collaboration track with Chapo 102.
In 2023, Nina Chuba's debut album "Glas" immediately positioned itself at #1 in the album charts. The 18 tracks include "Wildberry Lillet", "Ich hass dich" and "Neben mir", as well as the tracks "Mangos mit Chili", "Glatteis", "Femminello", "Tracksuit Velours" and "Alles gleich". Not only musically, Nina Chuba processes various influences from pop to dancehall, the lyrics of the songs also express a range of different emotions from exuberantly cheerful to deeply sad. In spring 2024, after a short break, she returns with a new single. "NINA" is the name of the rousing, energetic song.
There is no doubt about it: Nina Chuba is here to stay. This is also proven by the fact that her live concerts are regularly sold out and that she no longer performs in small clubs on tour, but fills concert halls across the country. An impressive success story that will certainly continue for a long time to come.
