O Fortuna – das Schicksalsrad dreht sich unberechenbar, wirft Menschen nach oben, schleudert sie in den Abgrund. Aber ist wirklich alles Vorherbestimmung? Choreograph und Regisseur Andreas Heise und Co-Regisseurin Marlene Hahn verschränken Leoncavallos »Pagliacci« – eine Geschichte von Eifersucht, Besessenheit und tödlicher Gewalt – mit Carl Orffs archaischen »Carmina Burana«. Der Clown trägt eine Maske, aber unter der Oberfläche brodelt es. Wo Gesang auf Bewegung trifft, entstehen Risse im Gefüge – zwischen Schein und Sein, zwischen Kunst und roher Gewalt.
Inspiriert von der Ästhetik des Stummfilms und zwielichtigen Vergnügungskulturen der 1920er- und 30er-Jahre entsteht eine Welt des Grotesken, Absurden und Frivolen. Gesang, Bewegung und Musik durchdringen sich, verschmelzen zu einem kaleidoskopischen Bild jener Orte, an denen die Maske bröckelt. Künstlerische Freiheit kippt in Obsession, Begehren in Gewalt, das Spiel wird tödlicher Ernst. Was davon ist Inszenierung, was Realität? Wo endet die Pose, wo beginnt die nackte Emotion?
»O Fortuna« bringt das Opernensemble und das Leipziger Ballett zusammen in einen Abend, der fragt: Wie sehr trauen wir dem, was wir sehen, und was ist hier eigentlich noch echt?
