In 2011, two thirds of the Berlin electronic/indietronic formation FORCED MOVEMENT formed the Depeche Mode tribute project “FORCED TO MODE” – in response to a very passionate request. The trio was completed with Matthias Kahra on guitar.
Another DM tribute show? Yes and no! FORCED TO MODE produce and present their “Devotional Tribute” at a level that is without question unrivaled. That is of course very easy to say, but the reactions of the audience and the press as well as the videos of the band's concerts speak a clear language.
Above all, the very energetic live performances, the “very close to the original voice” and the perfectionist attention to sound detail make the F2M tribute show so unique.
The three musicians are primarily dedicated to the first 15 years of the original's work. Constantly changing set lists and DM songs that are rarely, or sometimes never, played live are part of the band's credo. The highlights of F2M's work to date are certainly the three-day "Violator Tour", on which Forced To Mode brought Depeche Mode's most successful album to the stage for the first time in 2015 in its entirety and with the original track list; the 2016 concert in the Berlin Meistersaal of the Hansa Studios, where DM produced three of their famous albums in the 80s; a gig in the summer of 2016 at the legendary Königstein Fortress and the concert during "Gothic Meets Klassik 2016": Forced To Mode had the great honor of putting on a classic-modern version of several touching Depeche Mode songs together with a symphony orchestra in the Gewandhaus Leipzig!
F2M's repertoire now includes over 70 songs from all decades of the legendary English band. And there is no end in sight...
