Die achtziger Jahre waren die Zeit, als zu den Konzerten von GERHARD SCHÖNE mit der Gruppe L‘ART DE PASSAGE oft Tausende strömten. Der Insel der Jugend in Berlin drohte bei seinem Konzert 1988 wegen Überfüllung der nahe Untergang.
DU HAST ES NUR NOCH NICHT PROBIERT war das Motto und die Verbindung zwischen Publikum und Podium. Klassiker wie WELLENSITTICH UND SPATZEN, FANTASIA, BLUES IM BLUT oder MIT DEM GESICHT ZUM VOLKE wurden auch ohne Radiorotation zu Ohrwürmern undzu Wellen der Ermutigung.
Die Popularität von GERHARD SCHÖNE blieb auch nach 1990 ungebrochen, wovon unter anderem über zwanzig neue Alben und verschiedene Konzertprogrammezeugen. Viel zu selten jedoch hatte der Liedermacher sein gesamtes Repertoiredabei im Blick und auf dem Programmzettel.
