Information about the event

Sarah Bosetti puts forward a bold thesis: the greatest danger to humanity is not climate, war and catastrophes, but populism.

Disinfectant against Corona? Climate terrorism? Birthday party for 69 deportations? That is the level at which the powerful of this world talk about the important political questions of our time. Almost all crises could be mastered if we approached them with honest reason - which we fail to do with impressive consistency. That is why, in the fight against fake news, discrimination and discourse shifts, Sarah Bosetti takes on some of the most beautiful, worst or most absurd populist statements by well-known personalities - from Alice Schwarzer to Olaf Scholz to Vladimir Putin - and answers them with clever and witty poems. She fights populism with everything she has: with poetry!

Sarah Bosetti is a satirist, author and reluctant feminist. For her weekly satirical show Bosetti wants to talk! (ZDF) she was nominated for the German Television Award in 2022. She has previously received the Dieter Hildebrandt Prize and the German Kleinkunst Prize, among others. She hosts the extra3 podcast Bosetti's Week (NDR), in which she discusses political events with prominent guests, tours the German-speaking world with her live program and is a columnist for WDR2 and radioeins (RBB).

"So if the shit collapses at some point ... it won't be Sarah Bosetti's fault." – Marc-Uwe Kling
