Much of what the media appreciates about him, but even more of what the audience loves about him, can be found in his songs. Prahl sings Prahl - authentic, down-to-earth, earthy, with humor and a passion for making music.
For many, his debut album "Blick aufs Mehr" was a surprise, for quite a few it was their new favorite album. In November 2018, his second studio album "MEHR" was released, which had been eagerly awaited. In addition to this and of course beyond that, there are - finally - concerts again. Now, with the first 7-inch release "Timpete" something new is announced and will be presented live for the first time on his summer tour.
With Axel Prahl, it is not a singing actor but a wonderful musician and singer who enters the German (music) stage with songs that have sprung from his own pen and his own experience.
His band, which is by no means celebrated in passing, is a small, hand-picked group of nine musicians who have brought some famous names to the German rock, jazz and classical music scene. First and foremost Danny Dziuk, whose songs and lyrics have boosted the reputation of Annett Louisan and Stoppok.
The musician Prahl muses and rants, purrs and sighs, is from biting to naively good, touching and seductive. But above all, Axel Prahl is completely himself as a musician, in other words "in the role of his life" as "ZDF-Aspekte" noted with some relish.
