Diese Inszenierung sprengt die Grenzen des gewohnten deutschen Theaters, das den Mythos oft im politischen Zusammenhang erklärt, statt ihn in seiner ursprünglichen Form spürbar zu machen. Hier gibt es keine Distanz - nur Angst, Verlangen und den Verlust jeder Kontrolle. „Jeder kennt Dracula“, sagt Regisseur und Autor Sascha Hödl, „doch ich suchte einen Weg, die Geschichte neu zu erzählen, ohne ihre ursprüngliche Vision zu verlieren. Viele Inszenierungen romantisieren den Stoff - und darum habe ich ihn zerlegt und neu zusammengesetzt.“ „Dracula“ wird zum schonungslosen Horrortrip: intensiv, körperlich, psychisch verstörend. Eine Welt entsteht, in der Fiktion zerbricht und Realität Gestalt annehmen. Neue Blickwinkel treffen auf das Bekannte - und entfalten darin ihre Kraft: Sie berühren und schockieren neu, ohne das Vertraute zu verlieren. Diese Produktion wagt, was auf deutschen Bühnen selten geworden ist: echten, ungefilterten Horror. Kein Augenzwinkern, keine Ironie - nur Dunkelheit, die näher kommt, als man es ertragen möchte. Ein Abend, der nicht endet, wenn der Vorhang fällt, sondern im Innersten weiterlebt.
