Mitte der 80er Jahre in (natürlich) New York ins Leben gerufen, sind die New York Voices absolute Vocal Jazz-Legenden. Live und auf Platte brillierten sie mit Big Bands ebenso wie »solo«, also pur vokal, und haben Standards für die Szene gesetzt. Nach nunmehr 38 Jahren Ensemblegeschichte wird das Quartett nun aufhören – aber vorher glücklicherweise noch (und endlich!) auf die a cappella Bühne in Leipzig steigen! Dabei werden sie sich aufs Beste präsentieren und noch einmal tief in den Jazz-Kanon und ihre Geschichte eintauchen. Und die a cappella Gemeinde darf sich so auf eine weitere ikonische Gruppe und ein Genrehighlight der Festivalgeschichte freuen. Dabei sein ist alles!
