Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, Rise Against has been called "perhaps the most important punk band on the planet" by NME. The multi-gold and platinum-selling group (lead singer/guitarist Tim McIlrath, bassist/vocalist Joe Principe, lead guitarist/vocalist Zach Blair, drummer Brandon Barnes) has released seven top 50 albums on the Billboard 200 chart, five of which reached the top 10. Rise Against's albums tackle a wide range of important issues, including voting rights, LGBTQ rights, animal rights and environmentalism, and the band is known for fully engaging with their fans - whether in an explosive live show or on record. The band's latest album, Nowhere Generation (Loma Vista Recordings), shines a spotlight on the social and economic conditions that stand in the way of younger generations' pursuit of the American dream. The album's title track, which debuted at the top of several Billboard charts (including No. 1 on the Rock chart) in June 2021, also reached No. 1 at rock radio. To celebrate the LP's one-year anniversary, Rise Against surprisingly released a five-song EP, Nowhere Generation II, in June 2022 - a driving, five-song follow-up that served to continue the critical dialogue between the band, its fans, and the world at large. After spending most of 2023 and 2024 in the studio, the band is primed for an exciting 2025.
